Batman on a Budget! Iconic Movie Cars Could Cost £28k A Month To Lease

Ever wondered how much it would cost to lease the Batmobile?

Leasing.com has revealed it would cost an eye watering £6,258 a month to have Christian Bale’s iconic ‘Tumbler’ Batmobile sat on your driveway, and that’s not even the most expensive vehicle as the leasing comparison website researched the top 10 movie and TV icons.

As the latest Batman movie hits cinemas over the weekend, Leasing.com crunched the numbers to find out how much iconic movie and TV vehicles, past and present, would cost to lease if they ever hit the car market on a three-year lease contract.

Topping the list of most expensive cars to lease is James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5. The silver coupe, which was first seen in Goldfinger, with Sean Connery at the wheel, last sold at auction for £3.45 million. Motorists would pay a staggering £28,787 per month to lease the Bond icon.

Whilst for most UK drivers such sums would be beyond their wildest dreams, many could afford Philip Glenisters Audi Quattro from BBC’s Ashes to Ashes. Leasing.com figures show, 2021’s average monthly lease cost was £331.97, the classic Quattro sold at auction for Children In Need in 2014 for £38,958 and would cost a more affordable £321.65 per month.

Dave Timmis, Managing Director of Leasing.com, emphasised that whilst a modern family SUV is much more affordable, a dream car is still a dream car: “Like me, many car fanatics will probably have had posters or even phone backgrounds featuring the Batmobile or Bond’s DB5. But whilst most of us don’t have a cool £3.45 million to spend at auction, our research shows that leasing helps make some of our dream motors attainable including TV or movie icons including a bright red Audi Quattro!

Other cars with surprisingly sky-high monthly rentals include Steve McQueen’s Ford Mustang GT390 from the seminal 1968 classic Bullitt, costing just over £23,000 a month along with Paul Walker’s bright orange Toyota Supra from the Fast & Furious at £3,441 per month.

Note: Vehicle pricing data is based on the most recent vehicle estimations from official auction sales or publicly recorded private sales.
