As well as recently producing a record number of replacement bodyshells for the classic car fraternity, British Motor Heritage (BMH) has been continuing apace with the refurbishment and renewal of its myriad items of tooling – a programme that’s allowing it to make and stock a host of minor but vital parts that in some cases haven’t been available for years.
Triumph owners will be pleased to learn that the most recent item to be repaired and returned to life is the tooling for the steering wheel clamp that was standard fit on most of the manufacturer’s models from the ‘60s and ‘70s. As a result, the part is now back in manufacture at BMH’s plant in Witney, Oxon, following which it’s E-coated in Northamptonshire before being supplied to the company’s nationwide group of Approved Specialists.

The unit cost of part No.156024 is £20.00 plus VAT, and the Triumph models to which it is applicable are:
- Spitfire, GT6, Vitesse, 2000, 2500, 2.5PI – all models
- TR4A, TR5, TR250, TR6 – all models
- TR4 from VIN CT20266 (RHD) and CT20064 (LHD) onwards
- Herald – all models except 948, and 1200 prior to VIN GA80000
Further details of the clamp and all other BMH parts are available from the aforementioned specialists, a full list of which can found at www.bmh-ltd.com
