Bicester Motion has appointed leading property consultancy Bidwells as joint agents on the latest delivery as part of its 1,000,000 sq/ft Bicester Motion masterplan: Bicester Motion Innovation.
The former 444-acre RAF site will comprise four zones: Bicester Motion Heritage, Experience, Innovation and Wilderness, all connected by a central grass airfield, as part of the site’s vision to become a hub of excellence for the past, present and future of mobility.
Bidwells are the leading property consultancy within the Oxford-Cambridge Arc, a high-growth region of global significance that adds over £110bn to the UK economy. Working alongside Adalta Real, Bidwells will provide additional support in prospecting new specialist businesses to join the established Bicester Motion site.
The Bicester Motion Innovation development will be a new hub for market-disrupting businesses in the mobility space. Development will sit within the established campus setting, adjacent to Bicester Heritage and within close reach of on-site amenities including cafes, bars, event space and access to the airfield and test track.
Mike Doran, Asset Management and Leasing Manager, Bicester Motion, comments: “The addition of Bidwells to our leasing team for Bicester Motion Innovation will enable us to connect with an even wider range of innovators from across technology and mobility-focused businesses.
“We are looking forward to welcoming additional, market-disrupting specialists to our established community, to accelerate the development of new technologies in the world of motion, whichever form that may take.”
Duncan May, Partner, Bidwells, comments: “There are already several interesting tech businesses on the campus and we recognise there is an opportunity with the new Innovation Quarter scheme to build on this and develop the campus into the UK’s leading centre of excellence in the future of motion. We look forward to working closely with the Bicester Motion team and working towards realising this vision.”
Development of Bicester Motion Innovation is expected to begin in 2023, with the buildings open for occupation early 2025. This will be swiftly followed by the other masterplan projects; Experience, Wilderness and the hotel, with all complete by 2030.
